SASSA periodically requires SRD R370 beneficiaries to reconfirm their application to continue receiving the grant. If you receive an SMS asking you to reconfirm, do it immediately — missed reconfirmation stops your payments.

What Is SASSA Reconfirmation?

Reconfirmation is SASSA’s way of verifying that:

When Does SASSA Ask for Reconfirmation?

SASSA sends an SMS to your registered phone number when reconfirmation is required. This may happen:

Watch your SMS inbox closely if your payments have recently stopped or your status changed to Pending.

How to Reconfirm Online

  1. Visit srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Click “Reconfirm Application” (the link appears when reconfirmation is due)
  3. Enter your 13-digit SA ID number
  4. Enter your registered phone number and OTP
  5. Review your personal and banking details
  6. Confirm you still meet all eligibility criteria
  7. Submit

The process takes about 5 minutes.

Can You Reconfirm Via WhatsApp?

Sometimes. Send “Hi” to 082 046 8553 on WhatsApp and follow the prompts. SASSA may offer reconfirmation via WhatsApp during active reconfirmation periods.
