Updating your SASSA banking details is essential if you changed bank accounts, your account was closed, or payment is failing. You can do this entirely online at the official SASSA SRD portal.

How to Update Banking Details Online

  1. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/banking-details-update
  2. Enter your 13-digit SA ID number
  3. Enter the phone number registered on your SASSA application
  4. SASSA will send a one-time PIN (OTP) to your phone
  5. Enter the OTP to verify your identity
  6. Enter your new bank account number and bank name
  7. Confirm and submit

SASSA will verify your new account with the bank before activating it. This takes 3–5 working days.
