Last updated: June 2026 · South Africa SRD R370 Grant

Your application is still being verified.

Pending is a normal status in the first 2–3 weeks of each month. SASSA is still running checks. Check again in 7–14 days.

What Does SASSA Pending Status Mean?

When your SASSA SRD status shows Pending, it means the system has received your application and is currently running verification checks. These checks include:

These checks take time. Pending is not a rejection — it simply means processing is not yet complete.

How Long Does Pending Last?

Most Pending statuses resolve within 2 to 3 weeks. The timeline depends on how busy the SASSA system is and whether any checks need manual review.

Time into MonthWhat to Expect
Week 1–2Pending is completely normal — do nothing yet
Week 3Still Pending — check if your details are up to date
Week 4Pending this late — update your details to trigger re-check
End of monthIf still Pending, check next month's status

What To Do If Status Stays Pending

  1. Wait 7–14 days before taking any action. Most cases resolve on their own.
  2. Check your details — log in to srd.sassa.gov.za and verify your phone number and banking details are correct and current.
  3. Update banking details if they have changed — this triggers SASSA to re-run the verification process.
  4. Call SASSA — if Pending persists for more than 3 weeks, call 0800 60 10 11.

Can Pending Turn Into Approved?

Yes — Pending frequently changes to Approved once SASSA completes all checks. This is the most common outcome. Keep checking every 7–10 days during the month.
