SASSA Status Approved But No Payment — What to Do 2026
Check your SASSA SRD status instantly — free tool
Check Status Now →Your SASSA SRD status shows Approved but the R370 payment has not arrived. This is one of the most common issues beneficiaries face — and it almost always has a fixable cause.
Why Is Payment Not Showing After Approval?
1. Banking Details Are Incorrect or Outdated
This is the most common reason. If your bank account details on SASSA’s system do not match your current account — or the account was closed — payment will fail silently. Your status still shows Approved but the money bounces back to SASSA.
Fix: Update your banking details at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/banking-details-update
2. Payment Is Still Being Processed
SRD payments are processed between the 24th and 30th of each month. If you are checking before the 30th, your payment may simply not have been processed yet.
Payment timing by channel:
- Capitec: 24th–25th
- Other banks: 25th–27th
- PostBank / SASSA card: 26th–28th
- CashSend / retailers: 28th–30th
3. Phone Number Mismatch
If your registered phone number changed and you did not update SASSA, SMS notifications may not reach you — but more importantly, the payment verification may fail.
Fix: Update your number at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/mobile-number-update
4. Account Was Temporarily Suspended
Banks sometimes flag accounts for verification. If your account was suspended by the bank, SASSA’s payment will not go through.
Fix: Contact your bank and ask if there are any holds on your account.
5. CashSend Voucher Expired
If you collect via CashSend at Absa ATMs, the voucher expires after a certain period. Expired vouchers mean the money was returned to SASSA.
Fix: Call SASSA to have the voucher re-issued.
Step-by-Step: What to Do
- Check banking details — log into the SASSA SRD portal and verify your account number is correct
- Wait until the 30th — do not panic before the end of the month
- Check your bank account directly — sometimes payments show with a slight delay on banking apps
- Call SASSA — if payment has not arrived by the 1st of the following month, call 0800 60 10 11
- Visit a SASSA office — bring your ID and ask a consultant to check your payment record
What to Say When Calling SASSA
When you call, tell the agent:
- Your ID number
- The month you were approved but did not receive payment
- Your current banking details
Ask them to confirm whether the payment was processed and whether it was returned.
Check Your Current Status
