An affidavit is a written statement that you swear is true. You sign it in front of a Commissioner of Oaths. It is needed when applying for the SASSA Child Support Grant, but you are missing ID documents.

This grant helps low-income parents or guardians take care of their children. The affidavit supports your application. It explains your situation if you don’t have other documents like a birth certificate or ID.

I know how confusing this process can be. I had to do it myself when I applied for the grant. In this guide, I will share my personal experience.

You will learn how to write the affidavit the right way. I will also tell you how to present it to a Commissioner of Oaths. This step is very important.

If your affidavit is not correct, your application may be delayed or rejected. So, read carefully and follow the steps I took to get it done.

How to Write an Affidavit for the SASSA Child Support Grant?

The first thing that you need to do is to get the affidavit form from the SASSA officials. You need to visit the SASSA office and ask for the affidavit for the Child Support grant. Get this form and follow the further steps: 1) Read the Affidavit Carefully You should sit back and read the complete affidavit carefully.

Check all the details and find out what the requirements of this affidavit are. Once you have done your due diligence, you can go to the next step. 2) Visit the Commissioner of Oaths Office Once you are ready to fill out the affidavit, you need to visit the commissioner of oaths' office to swear to your claim. This could be your legal relationship status with the child and the ID of the child as well.

You need to take the oath in front of a commissioner of oaths and verify your claim that you are a caretaker of that child. 3) Fill Out the Affidavit and Get Stamped Now you need to fill out the affidavit and sign your signature at the end. Now, hand over this affidavit to the commissioner of oaths and get it stamped; that will make it legal and verified. So this is the complete method that you can use to write an affidavit for the SASSA Child Support grant.

Use my personal experience to write the affidavit and take the oath at the commissioner’s office.
